HomeRun STEP

Built on real school run data

Our work is grounded in detailed analysis of how children actually travel to school - not assumptions or one-off surveys.

By combining anonymised journey data with behavioural, geographic, and demographic insight, we build a clear picture of what’s happening on the school run, and where change is realistically possible.

This data foundation powers HomeRun STEP, our intelligence platform for councils.

The school run accounts for over 25% of peak-time traffic and an estimated 2.1 million tonnes of CO₂ every year in the UK

> HomeRun STEP helps councils identify where that impact can be reduced most effectively, and with the greatest value for money.

HomeRun STEP

Evidence-led school travel planning

HomeRun STEP uses advanced modelling and machine learning to give councils strategic intelligence on school travel at scale.

It enables transport and active travel teams to move beyond reactive, school-by-school approaches and instead prioritise interventions based on evidence, equity, and impact.

Field-proven
with councils

STEP is already being used by councils to analyse school travel at scale, prioritise interventions, and support funding decisions using consistent, evidence-led insight. Today, our primary focus is supporting councils through STEP.
